The Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association is actively determined to implement measures to sensitize its members to both the moral and business imperative that our practices and firms should reflect the diverse nature of the clients we represent, and the principles of equality and justice for which we fight everyday. As part of a long term effort to improve diversity within our member law firms, PTLA has undertaken initiatives to provide its members with resources to fulfill the goal of greater diversity in hiring practices. One of those initiatives is this Diversity Section of the Web Site. This Diversity Section will list many of the resources and initiatives available at each of the area law schools and in the community and provides information for those who wish to participate. We are indebted to our chairs and committee members for their substantial commitment to this important endeavor, and grateful to all of our members who will work to promote long term and substantial change in this area.
To better serve our members and the communities in which we work and live, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association Diversity Committee will work to:
promote greater diversity in member firms by recommending strategic initiatives to recruit, support, and retain attorneys from diverse backgrounds including race, gender, national origin, religion, socio-economic status, physical disabilities, and sexual orientation;
promote participation in activities supporting diversity in our communities and in conjunction with our members’ clients.
