VOLUNTEER for PTLA for VIP Volunteer Partnership

The Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association has pledged to handle 100 cases a year for the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program.  Philadelphia VIP is the last stop for many Philadelphians who are unable to afford an attorney and are on the doorstep of loosing their home, loosing their car, loosing their electricity, or other unfortunate circumstances that plague our community during these difficult times.

You can help!

VIP does not have enough volunteers to handle simple auto cases, identity theft, landlord tenant disputes, wage claims ($500 threshold), and invasion of privacy cases.   We Need Your Help!   You do not have to have experience in these areas -- VIP will provide back-up support, malpractice insurance, and training (particularly for identity theft cases).  The out-of-pocket expenses are small.  Most filing fees are waived, litigation expenses are minimal (PTLA will assist for expenses over $500), and the majority of court reporters will waive fees for VIP cases.

Volunteer TODAY!

Let PTLA know by e-mailing Susan Brocco, sbrocco@philatla.org, if you are interested in handling one case a year - if you are already and VIP volunteer, please let us know so we can add your name to our PTLA for VIP Volunteer Partnership.  This list of volunteers will be published in our newsletter, the Verdict.
